My Travels

My love of worldly expedition first began to truly blossom in the spring of 2010. My roommate and I set out minds to backpacking central-eastern Europe over our winter break in college. We spent six months scraping pennies and planning our route through Germany, The Czech Republic, & Hungary. That year I also won a travel scholarship from the company I was working for at the time, The Cherry Republic. The scholarship was designed to assist an employee in setting up a trip to live in a developing country for a minimum of three months, I chose to spend my time in Thailand. I ended up staying there for six months and worked in the diving industry. During that time I also visited other countries in the region and eventually made my way  through South Asia and The Mediterranean before returning home to Northern Michigan.

IMG_2081Right now I’m living in Mysore, India. Mysore is the third largest city in the state of Karnataka, here I’ll be studying Ashtanga yoga for the next two months. Ashtanga yoga was created in Mysore by its founder, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. By coming to practice at the shala seek to deepen  my practice and overall understanding of this powerful practice. After my time in India I will be moving back to Southeast Asia, and on to Australia to begin my year’s working holiday visa.

The rest is unplanned so stay tuned for details….
